1. Provider and scope

These terms apply to registered users of the DerDieDas learning platform.

2. Registration and user account

A user account is required to store personal learning progress permanently. A reachable email address and a password must be provided during registration.

Users are responsible for keeping their login details confidential and for informing DerDieDas without delay if they suspect unauthorized access to their account.

A user account may not be used to impersonate another person or infringe the rights of third parties.

3. Scope of the service

DerDieDas provides digital exercises, learning statistics, progress indicators, and other functions for learning German.

The service currently available is free of charge. There is no entitlement to specific trainers, content, functions, or a particular learning outcome.

DerDieDas does not replace a language course, exam preparation provided by an educational institution, or individual professional advice.

4. Permitted use

DerDieDas may be used only in accordance with applicable law and for personal learning purposes.

The following are prohibited in particular:

• attempts to gain unauthorized access to accounts, databases, servers, or protected areas;
• bypassing technical protection measures;
• automated or excessive access that may impair operation of the platform;
• introducing malware or harmful code;
• unlawful, offensive, or misleading profile content;
• abusive manipulation of rankings, referral functions, or learning statistics.

5. Display name and profile picture

Users may voluntarily provide a display name and a profile picture.

Users may use only content that they are authorized to use. Content that violates laws or third-party rights may be removed.

6. Learning content and intellectual property

Texts, exercises, illustrations, designs, software components, and other content provided on DerDieDas may not be reproduced, published, sold, or incorporated into users' own commercial services without prior permission.

Uses permitted by law, including mandatory limitations and exceptions under copyright law, remain unaffected.

7. Availability and changes

DerDieDas is operated with reasonable care. However, uninterrupted or error-free availability at all times cannot be guaranteed.

Functions may be developed further, changed, or temporarily disabled, particularly for maintenance, security measures, technical problems, or further development of the learning service.

8. Suspension and termination

In the event of serious or repeated violations of these terms, security risks, or unlawful use, a user account may be temporarily suspended or permanently deactivated.

Users may stop using the service at any time. Deletion of the user account and the associated personal data can currently be requested by email.

9. Liability

The statutory liability provisions apply.

Learning statistics, recommendations, and progress assessments are provided solely as learning aids. No guarantee is given for a particular learning outcome, passing an examination, or the complete absence of errors in all learning content.

10. Data protection

Information about the processing of personal data is provided in the Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to these terms

These Terms of Use may be amended if the service or the legal framework changes. Registered users will be informed of material changes in an appropriate manner.

Changes do not apply retroactively and do not affect users' mandatory statutory rights.
